Swinging 60s here we come!

Disney News was a bonus offer for Magic Kingdom Club members, along with other perks including the purchase of Magic Key tickets later on, which could be used for entry of any attraction at Disneyland. I have some of those tickets tucked away in my "archives" too -- my family got Magic Key tix instead of the lettered books as the ticket era drew to a close ... much to the detriment of my eventual collection.

This is the oldest issue of the five I found, and as you'll see in the following pages, it offers some interesting and fun facts on Disneyland of the late 60s.

Immediately noticeable is the subscription rate for the magazine: one thin dollar per year! A mere eight bits bought Club members an exclusive window on Disneyland and its latest, greatest attractions and entertainment.

I hesitate to guess the going price of one of these rare issues on eBay today -- and I dare not dial up the Disney eBay auctions to find out, because I know I'll see five collectibles that I'd want right off the bat, yet can't afford.

And no, I'm not interested in selling my issues either -- another reason I don't want to look up their going bid values. It takes me too long to fall asleep at night already, knowing what I've got -- the last thing I need to see is what someone else is willing to pay for it!

Well, still no sign of those marauding pirates "on page 13", so let's proceed into the issue and find out what other benefits Club members enjoyed in the Summer of '68.
