Disney's Animal Kingdom

Not only is the Tree of Life the stunning centerpiece of Animal Kingdom, it also serves as the naturalistic queue path for an attraction found deep underneath the tree's roots. As I wind my way along the outstretched root maze, I find not only more hidden animals such as the rhino and kangaroo seen below, but also that the scale of my surroundings is growing bigger -- or am I shrinking?  Shrinking, shrinking down to the size of an atom!  No wait, that was the old Adventure Through Inner Space ride. But if you think the people are beginning to look like ants, you're on the right track.

Humans haven't shrunk this much since Adventure Thru Inner Space!

Those animated insects from "A Bug's Life" have created their own attraction under the Tree of Life called It's Tough To Be A Bug.  Now that my human companions and I have shrunk to our tiny Formicidae dimensions, our bug buddies are putting on a show to enlighten us that most insects are no pests at all, but helpful partners in keeping our world livable for all forms of life.  Through the magic of our new "bug eyes", Flik and friends scurry, fly and dance up a swarm of entertaining effects which never fail to surprise and startle audiences.

It's not easy being seen...

Don't worry, that shrinking feeling is only temporary, and we return to normal size as we follow the ant trail out of the tree roots and back into Safari Village.  On to Africa for some life-sized adventure . . .
