Adventurers Club Photo Gallery

See the photo gallery below for updates from my 2001 safari!

Ah, there you are! Colonel Critchlow Suchbench here, welcoming you to the Club Library, where the pictures hang around all day. . . just like me.

Before I start the tour, I must induct you into the Club by reciting our Adventurers Creed.  Please raise your right hand . . . no, your other right hand -- I see Nash is pouring generously tonight -- yes, that right hand, jolly good, and repeat after me:

We climb the highest mountains,
Just to get a better view.
We plumb the deepest oceans,
Cause we're daring through and through.
We cross the scorching desert,
Martinis in our hand.
We ski the polar icecaps,
In tuxedos looking grand.
We are reckless, brave and loyal,
And valiant to the end.
If you enter here a stranger,
you will exit as a friend.

Kungaloosh, everyone!

Congratulations, and now please feel free to wander about the Library. If you see a picture of interest, simply tap on it a couple of times with that . . . odd device you're holding . . . and one of our Club assistants will swiftly smash your face up against the picture for a closer look.

Cheerio!

During my March 2000 vacation, I spent nearly every night at the Adventurers Club, its wild and wacky cast members were endlessly entertaining and hilarious!  Pamilia, Hathaway, Samantha, Emil, Otis and the rest simply run amok with the guests, precariously balancing off-the-cuff improv with their favorite songs and routines.  And as Club Members, we were encouraged, goaded and otherwise required to interact with them, which made every night a unique experience.  I had an equally marvelous time this year!  To read more tall tales from my 2001 safari, click the monkey head above.

For my own show writing research, it was interesting to watch the different casts cycle through the week, but it was also great fun getting to know the cast regulars like the terrific 'Pamelia' to the left, who made a point of getting to know me a bit as well. On my last night's visit, many of them made a special point to say good-bye as they filed out through the crowd -- just part of the reason why the Adventurers Club collects such devoted fans all over the globe who return religiously after their own adventures abroad.

As the saying goes, you may enter as a stranger, but you will definitely exit as a friend! Adventurers, I salute you all.

To read about my very FIRST expedition as a tiny young lad -- and why I was born to be an Adventurer -- open this dusty volume of travel lore and enjoy.

KUNGALOOSH!

Adventurers, please keep in touch during your travels!

Simply tap on the telegraph to the right to send me a wire about your latest journeys . . . unless you want to borrow one of Emil's trained pigeons to send a note.

I find telegrams are a lot less messy, though!

Send a telegram to me, care of Etixland P.O.

To return to the Club lounge, please use these stairs.  To proceed to my 2001 Expedition to the Adventurers Club, open the secret panel.

If you would like to join in song with the Club Members, please follow this trail to Ragen's Adventurers Club page to hear MP3 files of some favorite safari tunes and exciting tales.

Oh dear! We cannot leave without a popular "refreshment" song, which you can hear yourself on Ragen's page. Here are the words so that you all can sing along . . . <ahem> . . .

Do, with which I buy my beer
Re, the guy I buy beer from
Me, the guy I buy beer for
Fa, the distance to the store
So, I think I'll have a beer
La . . . la, la, la, la, la, la
Ti, no thanks I'll have a beer
Which will bring us back to Do . . .
