Where were you in '62?

Return to etixland

Hey, Duke. Hi, Count.

No music on this album really, just a recording of Sir Duke and the Count chatting the FIRST TIME they met.

But obviously still worth the purchase -- it got a great review quote from Cuba's version of High Times magazine, and you can't buy publicity like that.

This isn't your father's Kostelanetz, it's the New Andre and his Wonderland of Sound, featuring eleven songs with "Love" in the title, and Volare.

Because no matter who you were, in 1962 you had to do a version of Volare on your album, it was the law. Even Alvin, Simon and Theodore covered it.

Love, exciting and New

I suspect Yoko was behind this one too

Maybe someone can explain why there are four men in the Chad Mitchell Trio? Who is The Mole?

Obviously their popularity preceded the Brit invasion of the Fab Five. Inflation ran rampant in '62! OK, the middle two are Verve and Vigor, but one of those jokers on either end is an impostor! Or maybe it was just Columbia's way of giving you more Chad Mitchell bang for your buck-ninety-nine?

I'm scratching this one off my join-up list, and sticking with The Dave Clark Six.

I think this album would have sold more copies if they'd added "Abbott and Costello" in front of the title.

Claude King, meet the discount bin.

Who's Claude King? That's his name. Who's name? Yes.
Oh, I hope not.

Speaking of comedy masters, Bill Dana blasts off the space age with his popular cartoonish caricature, Jose Jimenez. Very 1962 indeed.

Though shouldn't the quote read "Jooray for Jose Jimenez"?

Hust asking.
